Mighty Beanz

Mighty Beanz! What are they?

Mighty Beanz are basically three-dimensional ovaloids  with small flat circular ends on either side, rather like a large plastic capsule, along with a small metal ball inside of it to allow it to flip and flop around! The Beanz are decorated with a character's likeness, usually that of an animal, creature, caricatured human and even more!

They are collectible toys manufactured by Moose Enterprises, a corporation headquartered in Melbourne, Australia. Moose launched Mighty Beanz in 2002 and it became a hit and lasted 4 years before it approached it's downfall.  Moose re-released Mighty Beanz with a new logo and new styles of art on the beanz in Spring 2010, and has had a fixed fan base for quite a long time. In the Original Versions, Series 1 to 3 were released globally, while Series 4 was exclusive to the United States. It brought Mega Beanz, a much larger sized bean than what we have today, to collectors. A Series 5, was also only available in the United States, and it was named Bodz Series 1, which included new costumes for the beanz and of course, new beanz! Other than that, there have been licensed series of beanz produced. They include, Pokemon, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, Marvel Superheroes, and the Simpsons.

Moose also released a Mighty Beanz TCG which is believed to be exclusive to, once again, the United States. It was discontinued soon after and there was only one set in known existence. That, is the Moon Quest Series.

As already stated, in 2010, Moose re-released Mighty Beanz with a Series 1. It included the first 100 beanz of the New Version, as well as 16 Special Edition Beanz which includes the beanz found in the Blue Mighty Beanz Collector Case, the first 3 flip tracks, Slam 'n' Smash Race Track, and lastly, the Rock Beanz set, which was given out to customers living in the United States who ordered a special pack of merchandise from Spin Master via a television offer. It was then given out to the attendees of the inaugural Mighty Beanz party, held on October 1st 2010. Series 1 also introduced the re-return of the Mighty Moose Bean and several other Limited Edition Beanz. Series 2 followed soon after with beanz numbering 117 to 216, with Special Edition Beanz numbered 217 to 235. It included the first appearance of the Space Moose Bean in the New Version as well as more Limited Edition Beanz. Series 3 was released in Fall 2010 with beanz numbered 236 to 335, along with more than 40 Special Edition Beanz. It included the release of the New Square Beanz, 10 of them were just regular Super Rares numbered 267 to 276 and 5 more, as limited edition beanz. Series 4 was released in Summer of 2011 and had beanz numbered 410 to 519, reason for an extra 10 beanz is because of the new Triangle Beanz, integrated into the set. As usual, 10 of them were just Super Rares and 5 more were limited editions. Special edition beanz were numbered from 520 to 550. It also included the release of the Chocolate Moose Bean. Series 5 was released that fall, with many thinking that it would be the last set to be released and had beanz numbered from 551 to 669. The 120 new beanz consisted of new mini beanz which would replace the visible bean in 6-packs, as well as the mega beanz in the set. 10 new medal beanz were introduced with three different variations of each bean, Bronze, Silver and Gold. Just like Square Beanz and Triangle Beanz, they too are Super Rare. Disc beanz are also introduced , once again, with 10 of them as Super Rares, and 5 of them are Limited Editions.

Other than the main Series, a few licensed series were also released, Star Wars and Marvel Beanz were released in August of 2010 exclusively in the United States, with their respective acessories, Star Wars with a Darth Vader Lightsaber Fliptrack, a Darth Vader Tin, and a Millinieum Falcon Tin, while Marvel had a Spiderman Tin, as well as an Iron Man tin. Star Wars beanz have now been released in Australia with a 2nd Series but Marvel has not appeared at all. At the start of 2011, the DC Universe beanz were released, with 54 beanz in total. No known accessories were produced to be paired with the set. Lastly, in August 2011, along with the release of the Cars 2 movie, Cars 2 beanz were released, with a Lightning McQueen Clip 'n' Carry Case, and a Lightning McQueen tin and a Mater tin.

Mighty Beanz have been discontinued since mid-2012, presumably due to falling demand and the shifting of focus to new products by Moose, such as the Trash Pack, which (at this writing), seems to be on the verge of discontinuation as well. Nonetheless, Mighty Beanz had a great run and we hope that they'll return again in the years to come!

Mighty Beanz are produced by Moose Enterprises, headquartered in Melbourne, Victoria, Australia.

Our Mighty Beanz Content!

Yes, Mighty Beanz have gone out of production for more than 4 years now, so you might be wondering why this page still exists here on this site. Well, the simplest answer is that it is a fundamental part of UltimateSpongeBob101 history. Our very first video on YouTube was one where we opened Mighty Beanz packs...despite being on the SpongeBob channel. Mighty Beanz was far more than just a hobby for us, and unlike other hobbies past (Petpet Park) or present (Pokemon), it's legacy lives on in UltimateSpongeBob101. WE ultimately created a channel for Mighty Beanz alone, known as ultimatemightybeanz1. Check out our latest video we made for it on the right! For those who had lots of fun with them beanz in the past, this video is gonna be real nostalgic! Enjoy!
